ON HOLD (cg) Waffen-SS M40 Helmet by Quist

This is a sharp, combat service used Waffen-SS M40 Q66, heat lot #11420. The helmet shows consistent field use, with remnants of white camouflage (whitewash) in all the crags and scratches. The finish is a strong 80% despite this. The decal on top is a Pocher, and peeking out from underneath, along the top edge, is the top of the first decal it had installed (presumably Quist), showing fine service use and wear. The liner and strap are complete and in great condition. The liner leather features the add-in section, indicating when a liner was remanufactured from a smaller to a larger size. This also adds to the notion this could have been refitted and re-decaled during its service life. This helmet is overall an outstanding combat example of the iconic Quist manufacture.
