Tan Camouflage M35 Luftwaffe Helmet, DAK
Outstanding example of a DAK double decal Luftwaffe helmet that has “been there.” The helmet is a Q68, heat lot #4368. The liner and strap are original to the helmet. The Luftwaffe blue-grey factory finish and Luftwaffe adler and national shield show wear but are present / visible under the spray-applied tan camouflage finish. The liner and band display tan paint overspray along the edges. There is an ink stamp which is illegible, as well as a name and rank visible through the tan paint in the rear skirt area of the helmet. This classic helmet shows fading and effects of being exposed to the hot sun under conditions of maneuver and combat. It is in my view, a classic Afrika Korps piece in every sense of the term.
