Stripped SS-VT Side Cap
This is a sharp, earlier example of an SS-VT side cap with insignia removed. You can see where the Triangular VT type cap eagle was removed, leaving much of the stitching intact and the shadow of the early feldgrau color of the wool where the insignia was. The interior is the typical mouse grey cotton construct, with the wearer’s initials and and the remnants of the rzm cloth label up in the top of the cap. There is a white soutache for Infantry. Other characteristics of originality, including the classic location of the top seam locking-stitch, are also evident. The cap would make an excellent restoration piece and a good display piece with and SS-VT infantry outfit. Priced reasonably and COA companies.
