This is a rare, well used Waffen-SS M42 with a tan (southern front) camouflage scheme almost fully remaining. The specs are Ckl68, #3011 (Waffen-SS). The helmet shows storage age, is otherwise untouched, and shows what presents as period removal of the runic shield (bits remain). The helmet was recently obtained from a house cleanout in the northeast US. This type of camouflage for SS suggests LAH, or RFSS div, or anti Partisan forces, all of whom had a combat presence in Italy.
