This is a very nice grouping consisting of a Heer 23 Panzer Division officer’s shiffchen cap, with bullion insignia and pink soutache. The 23rd division insignia is in copper and is sewn to the left side of the scallop. The eagle is a hand-applied flatwire period replacement. The cap is in moderately service worn condition, with no altered or replaced insignia. The accompanying documents and tinnies are from the two treffen (reunions) this officer attended. The booklet from the first treffe, 1952, has a foreword from the Division commander, who was present at the event, and is an interesting read. Overall a quite unique set and excellent for the Heer Panzer collection. COA accompanies.
