Rare SS Droop Bill Helmet Likely Used for Combat

This helmet is a rare example of an Allgemeine-SS ‘droop bill,’ initially manufactured an issued in black and then painted multiple times for use in the field and potentially combat. The helmet has three layers of paint and two layers of decals, the SS runic shield of which remains exposed.  The intermost layer is the factory black which is visible especially in the dome of the helmet and also the underneath of the front flap. The Outside of the helmet has black then a layer of greenish field Gray,  and then a top layer of the bluish-green SS-VT color that is very distinctive on M35 helmets used in the field. This Indicates that this helmet was also possibly thrown in the mix as a combat helmet in the early stages of the war. The helmet has a name in the liner. Overall condition is very good to excellent with a strong SS shield still showing. Albeit with some wear and scratches. Overall an excellent, collectible and interesting helmet. COA accompanies.
