This is an excellent example of a Waffen-SS officer’s visor cap, kleiderkasse issue. The outer body of the cap is of higher quality tuch mutze wool, with velvet band, white piping, and vulkanfiber visor. The piping joins are perfect. The insignia are a feinzinc Zimmerman skull and matching eagle. The eagle is missing one prong as shown in the picture. (I believe the eagle is rebadged, had been pinched and the prong broke – perhaps during recent handling). The interior features a correct pressed paper sweatband, and silk lining. Overall, a sharp looking cap that would add a lot to a uniform display. COA accompanies.
