This is just a beautiful transitional police double decal helmet, curated for years by one of the world’s outstanding helmet collectors. The shell is Austrian, showing the holes where the flaming bomb or grenz-polizei insignia were once affixed, pre-anschluss. When the nazi era began, it was repurposed with a light feldgrau finish and a borderless polizei shield and the early style party shield with slightly rounded bottom. This shield is commonly found on transitional models of police and SD, as well as Quist manufactured M35 police helmets of the 1936-37 vintage. These nuances, plus the beauty and condition of it, make this a very outstanding helmet to collect. COA of course accompanies.
