HOLD (r.nic.) Outstanding Heer M40 Desert Camo, Actual DAK

This is a fine Heer M40 single decal, overpainted in the iconic DAK “pink-tan” and Feldpostnummer marked “48842 B.” This was the 962nd Schutzen Rgt, active in Tunis between January and September, 1943. The helmet is a Q64, Heat lot #DN184, and bears the inscription “Gefr. Wahl” in addition to the feldpostnummer. The inscriptions are lightly covered in the quick-swab tan coating on the inner skirt. The leather portion of the liner, having likely been bloody, was snipped out long ago. The felt cushion, pins, rivets, etc are all fine and untouched. The exterior bears all of its pink tan desert camo, and the Heer adler shows popping from the interaction with the finish and probably the heat. Overall a stunning looker, that would grace the finest DAK collection. COA accompanies.
