Hold (w) Outstanding Cloth Billed SS-VT Crusher CapSKU: Uarst101
This outstanding rare gem is a textbook example of the issue type cloth billed crusher, worn and coveted by the SS-VT during the early war period. They are seen worn widely by VT and TV units, and are iconic pieces of SS headgear. The cap is made from quality feldgrau whipcord wool, with the expected orange cotton lining and leatherette sweatband. The lining is simply size marked ’56.’ The badgecloth cap band and body are trimmed in white wool piping. The insignia are ‘1940 and after’ pattern bevo fat skull and eagle, in silver grey thread of enlisted quality. The eagle shows repositioning, done at some point. This example was examined and authenticated by David Delich, who noted the cap is a fine original example, with original, worn bevo insignia, that have been juxtaposed at some point– either during the period or afterwards (not possible to tell when). His letter of authenticity will accompany purchase. This cap needless to say would be a fine, capstone addition to the advanced SS-VT / Waffen-SS collection, and is guaranteed for life to be as described. My COA accompanies.
