This is a sharp example of the 1st style M40 pattern schiffchen hat worn by SS panzer troops. This design retained the skull button rather than a bevo skull. It has the RZM tag which is correct for this cap. later models of this retained the RZM tag, but converted to the bevo skull. Eventually the RZM tag was dropped from the model. A nice earlier hat with excellent condition and fine insignia.
