This is a great M35 Heer helmet, Q66, #2283, with a single ply liner band commensurate with this super early heat lot number for Quist. The adler is the famous ‘big foot,’ and the national shield is peeking out from the overpaint of heavy texture schiefergrau that most helmets were subject to during 1940. An interesting feature is the period solder job on the typical crack or break in the liner band, a common occurrence in helmets with the single ply band. An outstanding early combat helmet, with a great look. COA accompanies.
