This is a classic Dachau example of a maroon Waffen-SS fez, issued to troops in the Balkan SS anti-partisan divisions such as “Handschar.” This example is a size 57, with textbook straight-line stitching of the eagle and skull insignia. The yellow threads of the weave of the BeVo skull are visible at each edge beside the bones, a hallmark of originality. Tassel tacking and all components are completely intact. Sharp example!
