Mint, Unissued Waffen-SS M40 Double Decal Helmet

This is simply a mint unissued helmet that would be very difficult to upgrade. It is a Q64 M40 with with fine 100% Quist light textured schiefergrau finish, adorned with a Quist pattern runic shield and a CA Pocher pattern party shield. The Quist runes show the typical natural flaking that this maker of decals is well noted for. There was also a visible lacquer run off the lower and a the lower edge of the decal forming a point. These were face down decals, and sometimes were poorly lacquered, accounting for natural wear to the decal. Overall the finish is pristine, with light age oxidation and a few storage scuffs. Some room – light photos are included to show how it looks in a display room setting. The liner is 1940 dated and perfectly mint. The strap is the original issue item. A helmet this fine belongs in a deserving, advanced collection. COA accompanies.
