Historic Waffen-SS Officer’s M-43 Cap

This is an example of one of the many SS officers caps that came from the SS Depot in Prague after the wall came down. These are SS stock items that were made from captured Italian gabardine and provisioned for issue to the front line troops. At the end of the war the stockpiles of these hats in warehouses were maintained intact and later on used in propaganda films by the Czechs in the 1950s. Hence the property stamps from companies such as statini film and others. This cap bears all those markings, but also bears the Hallmark manufacture techniques of World War II SS production. The BeVo Insignia are fully intact, factory machine sewn and the hat has a single button front closure and imitation silk lining. A fine example of this historic hat. COA accompanies.
