Heer Grenadier Officer’s Visor Cap

This is a nice example of a service used heer Grenadier officer’s cap, private purchase. It shows significant service wear, but is intact and has a good shape and look to it. There is evidence of the visor being mended, and the thread looks a lot like period stitching. This type of repair is not uncommon for a well-worn hat to feature. The Insignia are correct and untouched to the piece and the overall condition is very good. The cap bears a name and designation,  “Zingerle”, from SK 65. Consignor reports that his research notes identify this company as part of a Panzergrenadier unit that only fought on the Eastern front and was completely destroyed in the Heeresgruppe Mitte retreat.

Very sharp hat! COA on request.
