Luftwaffe M40 Camouflage Helmet, Former Wire

Here is a very heavily service used (SE62 #302), handsome example of a typical Luft camo scheme that shows there was also a wire basket on the helmet at one time. The colors consist of a very close to DAK color ‘pink tan’ base, with the application of grass green and some brick red onto this. It seems the helmet might have been Southern Front, with a mainly tan camo, then re-camo’d later. This might account for the owner, “FK” painting his initials in the skirt two different ways, with two different paints. Every helmet tells a story. This one has many. COA accompanies.
